“I signed up for my Rite of Passage Retreat because I was at a point in my life where I knew I needed a challenge if I was going to make any meaningful changes in my life. I had done traditional therapy which helped some, but I still felt like I needed something more to be able to push myself. Primal Polar Bear Adventures was exactly what I needed to help me discover the man I want to be...” -Evan, Canada

What is a Rite of Passage?

A Rite of Passage is a deliberate crossing — a ritual or experience that marks the shift from one stage of life to another. For men, it’s often the transition into true adulthood and responsibility. It’s where the old self is stripped away, and the new self emerges.

Grit

Grit is the fire that doesn’t go out. It’s passion tied to perseverance — the strength to push forward when it hurts, to stay the course when comfort calls you back. Grit is choosing the long road, and walking it with purpose.

Adventure

Adventure isn’t escape. It’s entering the unknown on purpose. It’s risk, discovery, and challenge — the kind of experiences that test your body, sharpen your mind, and remind you that you’re alive.

Community

Community is brotherhood. It’s men walking the path together — sharing burdens, sharpening one another, and holding each other accountable. It’s the circle where you don’t have to pretend, and where your strength is multiplied.

My name is Antonio, and I have been on my Hero’s Journey for the past decade. I set out to discover my true potential as a man, using the wilderness as the medium to train my body, my mind, and my heart.

For over 10 years I’ve been backpacking into the wild — often solo — carrying a heavy pack into mountains, snow, and silence. Those expeditions confronted me in ways no comfort zone ever could. When you’re climbing at altitude, or trekking for a week in winter with sixty pounds on your back, the emotional journey is just as intense as the physical one.

The wild stripped me down, but it also gave me clarity. I began unpacking those lessons and seeking ways to integrate them into my daily life. Along that path, I worked with Connor Beaton of ManTalks and Trevor Bird of Inner World — two men with deep wisdom in guiding modern masculinity. Today, I have the privilege of leading a men’s group within the ManTalks Alliance and guiding breathwork sessions in Inner World — passing on the tools and gifts I’ve been given.

These practices, combined with my wilderness expeditions, have transformed the way I experience the world. The lessons I carry home from the mountains are no longer just about survival — they are about presence, strength, and becoming the man I was meant to be.

Why I Created Primal Polar Bear Adventures

Men often tell me they want to go deep into the wild — but they don’t know how to start, or they don’t have the gear. That’s why I created these Rite of Passage retreats.

When you join me, you don’t need to worry about logistics. I provide the essential gear: pack, tent, sleeping bag, pad, bear protection, and a complete backpacking kitchen with meals. You just show up — ready to be challenged, ready to listen, ready to grow.

Over several days in the wilderness, you’ll learn my process for entering the wild, practicing presence, and facing the internal journey that always comes with the external test. You’ll share the fire and the silence with a small brotherhood of men on the same path.

This is your chance to step out of the ordinary and into the wild — to discover your potential as a man, and to carry those lessons back into your life.
